Beautiful roadway covered in graffiti

Please explain to me, why, after all the hours and money spent on giving the residents of the Silver Creek and Mill Creek areas a gorgeous road, beautiful foliage and terrific walking areas, that we are now having to put up with the most unbeautiful graffiti? The inside wall around the lake is covered with writing, the turn arrows on the streets are covered and it is now appearing on the outside of the walls, on restaurants and other places that we should not have to have covered with this type of “art.” I don’t claim to understand the meanings of the symbols and words that are written, but I do think that a concerted effort should be made to find the people doing this and allow them 1,000 hours of community time to clean up these walls.

There was an article in the paper several weeks ago saying that graffiti would be cleaned up as soon as it was seen, because this is the only way to make the point that we do not want it – well, we need to start cleaning quickly before the rest of the walls and sidewalks get covered.

We have not had such a beautiful road in years – the contractors have done a superb job in making Bothell-Everett Highway a sight for sore eyes – please, can’t we just keep it that way? No graffiti, no for rent signs and let’s not throw our trash in the streets, either!
