Today marks the 28th day of the teachers strike with no settlement being agreed to. In fact, the media reports say that both sides are far apart on the issues. Our youth, which we the parents, teachers, elected school officials and the appointed school district superintendent have a civic duty to educate, are the losers in this strike. Since both sides seem unable to reach an agreement, submit to binding arbitration with the teachers returning to the classroom under the previous contract. Binding arbitration will allow the issues to be resolved by a neutral party while allowing the education of our youth to proceed.
