The Nov. 12 writer of “Using computers for porn is wrong” is right on and the actions of her husband were heroic, but the blame must be pointed in the right direction. The two parties at fault are the person viewing pornography and the Sno-Isle Library System for not only allowing, but encouraging it. The man needs help and the library system needs to take a stand on such an issue.
Although far from perfect, after living in Snohomish for over eight years we would not live anywhere else in the area. Point your justified outrage at those who deserve it but not the city of Snohomish. If the city could override Sno-Isle’s policy for activity within its borders I encourage the writer and the city (and other cities) to take this action (stand by, ACLU).
If access for this lewd viewing must be provided the libraries could have a couple of computers in a separate section and label them, “For Viewing Inappropriate Material Only.” This would place all of these outcasts in the same area, let others know who they are, and assure that others cannot see what they are viewing. How devastating and damaging it can be for the innocent in our society (child or adult) to view the misdoings of anyone, especially in a setting paid for by tax dollars and expected to be safe. I know this wouldn’t be politically correct, but who cares? Protecting our kids, families and country from its further decline from godly principles is far more important than catering to a very small and bent portion of society. I agree with and share the reader’s concerns and I hope the vast majority does also.
Thank you, city of Snohomish! Shame on you, Sno-Isle Library System!
