I have read the summary report by the Jan. 6 committee after it investigated facts leading up to the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection, and am struck by how Donald Trump kept grasping at some way to avoid people knowing he lost the election or even believing it himself. His loss is apparently unbearable for him to incorporate.
Doesn’t that indicate mental issues, not criminal intent? I think it is very sad that so many politicians just used this poor man to gain their own political power and further, very tragic that his family did not step in somehow and get Trump the psychological help he appears to so badly need to be able to accept his loss.
I cannot imagine the pain Trump is experiencing in what he feels is an unbearable humiliation. It seems life or death for him as he has put everything on the line, even saying the Constitution should be thrown out. I do not believe Trump should be indicted for his crimes at all. I do not believe he had the necessary criminal intent nor is fit to face a trial. If his acts are found to be criminal and he is sent to prison, in my opinion in his case that is cruel and unusual punishment. Go after those that knew better instead.
