Bumper sticker shared an offensive message

I had to write in regard to a bumper sticker I saw in a parking lot.

The bumper sticker said “Mission Accomplished” and the mission was crossed off and next to it NOTHING was written, hence nothing accomplished was the meaning. I was so offended by this sticker! I wonder if every man and woman who served and are serving on the Lincoln believe nothing was accomplished. These great patriots spent over a year away from their families and friends. They missed babies, children, mothers, fathers, wives and husbands. To say these fine people accomplished nothing is a slap in the face to them and their families. This speaks to the hate against America going on every day in Washington state. Bush/Cheney signs throughout the state have been stolen or destroyed. Bush and Republican headquarters across the state and the nation are being broken into.

It amazes me that the Democratic Party totes itself as the party of tolerance, peace and free speech; the party that does not discriminate and accepts all people. The type of behavior going on today is anything but tolerance. There is no peace in breaking and entering private property and hurting people. There is no acceptance and free speech in destroying other people’s property. I am beginning to think that tolerance, acceptance and free speech only applies to them when it benefits them, not anyone else.

I, and many others I know, am very thankful and proud of the people serving on the Lincoln and their families as well. They are true patriots, like our president, who understand freedom does not come without a price. I would suggest that the person with this sticker think again and show more respect for the people out there who are fighting for their very right to have that sticker.
