I think I can finally get over the fact that John Kerry lost. Yes, he lost the election. But it wasn’t by a massive landslide as the right had been predicting, or anything else that conservatives said would happen after the election, such as: Bush will deport all liberals or liberals will all be moving to Canada. Nice idea, but no. Who would the conservative majority constantly blame if we weren’t around?
Now comes the reality: Bush has the White House for the next four years. Which means that anything that goes down as “bad” happens on his watch. Can’t be pinning everything on Bill Clinton, Democrats, or liberals anymore. But the administration will try. Its supporters will be there, sounding off as usual. It is a (semi)-free country after all.
However, one nameless individual I was trying to have a conversation on the net with recently claimed that the Bush agenda was the following: More jobs, reduction of the tax cuts, smaller government, reduced spending, reducing the deficits, improving foreign relations, protecting the environment, protecting Social Security from getting mined, and opposing the gay marriage amendment while considering civil unions.
This person urged Democrats to quit copying everything Bush is doing and form our own agenda.
I asked him flat out, “who’s copying whose agenda again?”
Sounded like Kerry’s plan to me!
