I have worked for the Boeing Co. for quite a while and every time I fly on a Boeing airplane or see one fly overhead it makes me proud.
But when a handful of Boeing hourly employees who work for the IRC (Interiors Responsibility Center) at the Everett plant got together to raise money for the family of our friend and fellow employee, Scott Larsen, who was hospitalized and later passed away, the airplanes pale in comparison.
The small handful of employees got a volunteer team together and sold root beer floats, had a hotdog feed, a carwash and a golf tournament all to raise money for the Scott Larsen family. Boeing is a great place to work, but working with employees like those of the IRC makes it even better. Now every time I fly on one of our planes or see one overhead, I’ll think of Scott and the awesome people of the IRC.
