Call it something else and be happy

Marriage: The legal union of a man and a woman for life; the ceremony by which they are united.

Husband: A man joined to a woman by marriage.

Wife: A woman or female of any age who is united to a man by marriage.

God created man whom he named Adam. He later decided that Adam should have a mate. He did not make another man for Adam’s mate. He created woman and graced her with female organs whereby she could procreate. He named her Eve, thus Adam and Eve became the first family.

God also gave us guidelines, notably the Ten Commandments, as wise and needed now as much as in those long-ago days. He also gave us free will, which far too many of us have abused. We would be wise to live by those guidelines today.

I sympathize with you who desire same sex marriage. But it is a “no go.” It doesn’t fit the definition. I do not begrudge you the right to your rites. I suggest you band together and select a pleasing, meaningful name for your union. If you are sincere in your love for each other, rejoice in the knowledge you have a union that is uniquely yours and yours alone. I wish you happiness in your new union.

You should have no trouble getting this union legalized as a contract for life with the same rights given to a marriage.

And please don’t call me Ms. I wear the title Mrs. gladly and proudly.
