Campaign experience good

I would like to express my respect and gratitude for The Herald’s even-handed coverage of the recent local elections. In my experience as a candidate I learned the importance readers place in your work and how difficult it must be to avoid upsetting those of us with partisan interests along the way.

As The Herald and its readers know my opponent, Mike Cooper, won re-election to represent the 21st District in the state House. Mike and his volunteers deserve credit for running a tough, well-organized and fair campaign. I have confidence that he will continue to work diligently for our district in Olympia.

My first campaign was quite an experience. I was extremely proud to receive the endorsement of this paper and the support of energetic volunteers throughout the district. I gained some great friends during the course of the election and I am grateful I had the opportunity to run.
