Life is full of changes. After 95 years, one learns to accept that. But moving from one home to another shouldn’t change my delivery of the morning Herald!
Gone is the pleasure of opening my door for the latest Everett news. Gone is the routine of coffee, breakfast and the paper. Now I’ve been informed that because I’ve grown older and find a retirement institution more suited to my needs, I must wait until I am dressed and groomed before going down three flights to the lobby to ask for my paper by name and apartment number.
Ever since my husband was transferred to Everett 67 years ago, The Herald has been one constant in our lives. One of our boys was even a substitute paperboy one summer. Surely PR hasn’t gone the way of the dial phone!
I notice that home delivery is quoted as $17.50. I consider mine as apartment No. 302. I don’t want to pay less; I just want home delivery!
