Caring people guide grateful out-of-towners

Our sister recently passed away in Lynnwood. We traveled 1,800 miles west to Everett. We knew no one and didn’t even know how to reach Lynnwood. We rented a car to find our sister’s home, then we met Dennis Trettel, master investigator for the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office. He gave us directions to his office and my sister’s home in Lynnwood. Then he told us to call him if we encountered any problems. He also checked on us several times during the week.

Next we were very fortunate to find Teresa Barthal, an agent with Keller Williams Realty. She drove us wherever we needed to go. She even drove us to Kirkland, where we hired an estate lawyer. She waited for us and drove us home again.

These two people saved us about 75 percent of the time it would have taken us on our own.

My wife and I are both 75 years old. You can’t imagine how much their kindness meant to us. You have two of the finest people in your midst. We think everyone should know it.

Thanks again, Dennis and Teresa.
