I took a drive to run several errands on Monday morning in the Marysville-Arlington area. I counted eight cops running radar, three at the golf course in Marysville, three state troopers along Highway 9, two Snohomish County deputies on 67th. Apparently all the crime in Marysville was at the golf course.
They have time to run radar while my neighbors’ houses get broken into and their cars are stolen? Did you read about the guy the Snohomish County deputies finally caught? He had stolen 300 cars before he was caught.
These guys have way too much time to harass the working class on the way to work, while they let thieves steal what people have worked for. Do they just ignore their beat until a crime occurs? Or do they just see radar as an easy way to steer clear of criminals and look busy? I fear the cops more than the criminals at this point, because when I run across a criminal I know I will be on my own and I will have to act decisively. The number of daylight burglaries and car theft is a concern to me, but does not seem to be a concern to them.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office claims to be understaffed and doesn’t have time to help me or my neighbors. The state patrol had the traffic covered. Marysville had the dangerous golf course covered. The Snohomish County sheriff wants a new tax for more cops and has requested more money from my County Council. I will not vote for any cop tax until the sheriff gets his deputies to actually catch some real criminals.
