We must commit to fight to win

Everything I needed to know about terrorists I learned in kindergarten. In 1953 the movie “The War of the Worlds” came out. In the movie there is a scene in which a soft-hearted priest is watching the advancing alien spacecraft and says, “We should try to communicate with them.” This after the attackers had been on a rampage of killing innocents and destroying civilization in general for some time. Certainly long enough for a sane person to “get it.”

Of course, he is immolated by the aliens, just as we will be immolated by radical Islamic terrorists if the other half of our nation doesn’t “get it.” Interestingly enough, the liberal organ “Newsweek,” on Nov. 16, came out with an article by Evan Thomas in which he hypothesizes, “The most surprising lesson is not that wars of this kind (Vietnam, Iraq) are unwinnable, but that ‘You must fight to win.’” Duh! Welcome to kindergarten.
