I want to thank all the Realtors of the Snohomish County Association of Realtors for all of your hard work during our local food drive for the food banks in Snohomish County.
I know that the donations have been down by 20 percent and the need is up by 40 percent. Our Windermere office was stationed in front of the Haggen store in Marysville and we had a great response from the customers. We received food and cash donations ($1 buys 6 pounds of food).
I want to especially thank the man who was picking out flowers for his girlfriend that night and was having trouble because of the large selection. I saw him and walked in to help and to give him a woman’s preceptive. He picked out beautiful flowers and then asked me, “How much is this going to cost me?” I told him nothing, my services were free. He gave $10 as he walked out and that was 60 pounds of food. Also, the young teenage man who was walking into deposit his paycheck, he walked out with a pepperoni stick and $5 = 30 pounds of food. It is nice to see people in their true form of giving and it brought joy to my heart.
Thank you to all and remember, our food banks need food and donations all year round. It really puts it into perspective to know that two lattes can buy 60 pounds of food. Thank you again to all who gave!
