Can anyone help me understand the recent Everett Fire Department media coverage lately? The apparently less than truthful method of governing that the city of Everett’s mayor, Ray Stephanson, and his gang of puppets have adopted makes my stomach turn.
We have a fire chief, Murray Gordon, that is sworn to protect the citizens of the city, as well as his own subordinates, but instead chooses apparent deceit as the means to his chosen end?!
We have a city Public Information Officer, Kate Reardon, who conveniently doesn’t “have those numbers in front of her” when asked directly where the unaccounted for or misused funds have gone, by KIRO 7 News. It’s her responsibility to deliver that information to us all — we’re on the edge of our seat, so sooner rather than later would be nice.
Mr. Ray Stephanson has a big job, a job that he’s done well thus far … we thought. But his actions (or inaction) concerning this predicament are not confidence inspiring. Do the right thing and spend the money you’ve taken from us on the intended purpose. Feeling safe in my community isn’t a luxury I thought was negotiable.
We expect and deserve better than this.
Just because Washington D.C. acts this way doesn’t mean the city should.
