City, police, community gets round of thanks

Fourth of July thank-yous to the Everett Police Department for placing the parade street barricades in such a manner as to allow our members easy access to the church parking lot. Thanks to the 50-plus people who thanked us for opening our restrooms to the general public. You are most welcome. To Diana in the city clerk’s office, thanks for the useful information.

To all those who purchased lunch from us, we will try to be better organized next year. We raised $250 for the Gospel Mission’s Women’s and Children’s Shelter. Thank you, thank you. To Pastor Wes Johnson and church leadership who warmly supported the idea of opening our church summer Sunday lunch to everyone, and to the members of Bethel Baptist Church who either volunteered or allowed me to “shanghai” them for lunch set-up and serving, thanks for making this happen.

To Kate Reardon for her enthusiastic encouragement, thanks. To the Everett Jaycees and parade participants, thanks for the thousands of hours of preparation and practice and thanks for a wonderful parade.
