I went to the downtown Everett post office Monday morning.
Outside on the sidewalk was a nice looking young man standing next to a small table and holding a fairly large poster. The poster had a photo of President Obama with a Hitler-style mustache imposed on the image; the sign read “Dump Ob
ama?” It also called for the invoking of the 25th Amendment, which has to do with presidential vacancy, disability, and inability.
I am a Republican and will not be voting for President Obama. However, he is my president and deserves and has my respect.
I was disgusted by that poster and after some thought (I did my post office business and then came back out), I went up to the young man and calmly told him that, while I did not vote for President Obama, I thought his poster was incendiary and not the way to influence voters.
He raised his voice, called me a fascist, and invoked the name of Lyndon Larouche.
I walked away. I hope others will do the same.
This activity is not supported by the Republican Party.
