Condoning drugs is making the problem worse

Here in Washington, we made weed legal, so we could tax it. I for one have no clue as to where this tax money goes. Do you?

Now, we are building stations for heroin users to go to and shoot up under medical supervision. Can you believe this? Prior to this brainstorm, if you were caught with dope you went to jail. Now bring your dope, or if you don’t have any on hand, someone is probably waiting to sell you some.

Be sure you get high with a nurse handy in case you take too much. Then you might overdose and someone will bring you back so you can come back tomorrow. What’s next?

Are’t we leaving the drunks out? Don’t they deserve some sort of pity, too?

Maybe we should have a beer stand on First and Wall for the beer drinkers, then over on Second Avenue a stand for those who prefer whisky. On Third Avenue we could have one for those who like wine. If we do all this, won’t we be a happy bunch?

This is all ridiculous, of course, but really when does the silliness end?

This is not the country I remember in the ’30s and ’40s. Sure, there was a little of this stuff going on, but now its is totally out of hand, and it seems to me like we are condoning all of it.
