I have been a long-time subscriber and daily reader of The Herald and appreciate its coverage of local high school sports and activities. I was hopeful that The Herald would cover the state high school cheer championship, which occurred in the Xfinity Arena on Jan. 28. These athletes came from across the state to participate in activities which include amazing feats of strength, coordination, agility, teamwork and often flying greater than 20 feet in the air only to be caught by their teammates. Their training schedule is rigorous and lengthy.
A local team, Cascade High School, took second in their category. Congratulations to them! Hopefully The Herald will be better documenting these athletes’ accomplishments in the future. Go Bruins!
