Consistency sought on the TV listings

I’ve noticed discrepancies in the TV listings for sports events before, but this time your sports department has outdone itself.

On the first page of the sports section on Thursday, we read under “Today’s Game,” “Seattle at Cleveland, 4:05 p.m., TV: FSN (cable.)” On page 3, under “M’s update,” it states, “TV: None.” Finally, on page 8, “Team Calendars” lists “Cleveland 4:05 p.m. Ch. 11.” What is this? Multiple choice? “On the Air” was taking no chances it had no Mariners listing at all!

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that someone also isn’t sure what day it is. Sports page one is dated “Friday, August 30, 2007.” Sloppy!
