Some of the most courteous urban drivers in the United States are right here in our area, but the good intentions of drivers on the U.S. 2 trestle, while commendable, has created a traffic problem.
Drivers need to use both lanes of traffic all the way to the merge point. While lining up in the lane that goes straight through seems like the right thing to do, in actuality the best thing for traffic flow is for everyone to use both lanes. This not only reduces the backed up traffic that occurs off the trestle, but it reduces the bad feelings some may feel when others don’t seem to be “waiting their turn” in line.
