Just wondering: Why does The Herald waste so much paper and ink covering that loony bunch that has set themselves up as the monarchy of some fairy-tale land they call Freedom County? Or is that spelled Freedumb? How sad it is that trees give up their lives to make paper for this drivel.
Seriously (though that’s a hard position to take in this situation), this state does not need another county and all the bureaucracy it will eventually spawn. Anyone who thinks there won’t eventually be a huge county government is in a serious state of denial or worse.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Snohomish County government would be glad to see the creation of Freedom County, because I believe an examination of income and expenditures will show that the area encompassed by Freedom County costs much more to service than it returns in revenue.
If Freedom County becomes a legal reality, I will secede and form my own county.
