In response to the Friday letter that the city should look at cutting costs for emergency medical services: The writer has facts wrong.
A “man down” in an alley does not get three vehicles dispatched. One engine or aid car would respond, unless there was a reason to believe this person needed a paramedic, then they also respond.
How do you know he is drunk or sleeping? What if you or a family member had been mugged and left for dead in an alley … no big deal? Why are people so easy to “armchair quarterback” without really knowing the facts. I say support the continued outstanding emergency medical services provided by our city government. Your life may depend on it!
