Dave Somers ran in 1997 on fixing the traffic problem and now four years later his current brochures indicates he has accomplished much. Let’s set the record straight. Nothing of substance has been accomplished in the past four years. Why hasn’t the road connection between I-5 via 128th/132nd and Highway 9 been completed and the Lowell-Snohomish River Road washout several years ago been repaired in a timely manner? Both projects would relieve pressure on the U.S. 2 trestle and are in his district. Why aren’t more HOV lanes, checkpoint on/off ramps and traffic signalization being given the highest priority? Last but not least, why do we have over $21 million in collected road mitigation fees that have not been spent on improving traffic conditions?
He has had his opportunity. It’s time to retire this incumbent and elect a leader who will get the job done. Please vote for Jeff Sax.
