Delegation sets good example

Washington state has a Congressional delegation that works hard for constituents. Rep. DelBene’s decision to take the same sequestration cut to her salary shows solidarity with the American people. (Wednesday, “DelBene takes 8.2% pay cut,” by Jerry Cornfield.) It sends a message that she is with us. Same for Rep. Kilmer, who gives money to college-bound students. Congressman Heck gives to those with problems from unemployment. All three new representatives are making an important statement about what they choose as priorities. Congressmen Larsen, Smith, and McDermott have worked had for the benefit of the everyday Americans their entire time in office. The same can be said for our two senators. Now to move forward and create a budget that balances the needs of the people and getting rid of waste. If it can be done, these hardworking leaders will do it.
