Everything that makes this country strong rests on the commitment to making every voter’s voice heard in the election process. We can’t tolerate a rush to judgment that would deny thousands of seniors and people of color – or any voter – that voice. I urge The Herald to consciously avoid analysis or reporting that implies or explicitly suggests that this process is somehow motivated by partisanship. And I am offended by the suggestion that we should short-circuit a full and fair count “for the good of the country.” This is democracy in action.
