Rick Walker of Snohomish in his letter to the editor (“This is how we became a divided nation,” The Herald, Sept. 24) writes: “So much talk these days’ centers around the obvious need we have to see each other’s perspectives and to come together and find what unites us as Americans. What exactly prevents us from healing our national divide?”
He then went on to blame Trump and Christians for being liars. People who say America First are just spouting thinly veiled racism. Also, people on the right are mean!
He goes on to say he would be happy to respect the right these days if any of its enthusiasts were worth respecting.
So we need to put aside our differences and unite for the good of the country, but here are the reasons the left can’t.
Pot calling the kettle black much?
Next time people want to write in about our divide and the problems the “other side” is causing don’t forget to list the guy in the mirror as the true mastermind.
And before I get called out as a lying, America-First spouting, mean-talking racist, I might as well let you know that I am an independent voter. I didn’t choose either side in the last election because both were the most divisive candidates I have ever seen.
Let this be a reminder to both sides pointing fingers at each other. Your side will cheer the other side will rage. The independents will look at two mobs shouting about what makes them different never knowing their cries sound identical from the outside.
