Dems have no plans to change convictions

In response to Kenneth Weigel’s letter of Nov. 11 (“Democrats still don’t get whey they lost”), where he chastises Democrats from not having the “intellectual courage” to change our minds and get on board with George Bush and the Republican agenda, I have this to say. On the contrary. We Democrats have the courage it takes to stick with our convictions and to continue with beliefs that we feel strongly about, to stand up for what we feel is best for our families, our state and our country. While we are certainly disappointed, stunned might be the better word, by the election of Mr. Bush, we would not dream of selling out to, or, god forbid, “embracing” ideas we cannot in good conscience support. Nor do we plan on “disappearing beneath the waves of the rising Republican tide” as he so humbly put it.
