In the wake of the recent election results, liberals need to think back five years and apply some of the advice they then gave conservatives.
Bill Clinton had sullied the White House because of his Lewinsky affair. He lied brazenly to the country, his wife, his cabinet and his party. It is said by the left that “he lied, but nobody died.” How about the many terror attacks that we endured after Clinton let Osama bin Laden escape in the Sudan? If he had been paying attention to his responsibilities instead of his libido problems and apprehended the killer when offered, 9/11 may never have happened.
The left called all of us who found Clinton’s conduct and irresponsible behavior objectionable “Clinton haters.” They repeatedly told us not to be judgmental as we all had sinned. We were told to “move on.”
When I was young we were taught that we are judged by the company we keep. The Democrats would be well advised to relearn this time-tested axiom. When they sit Michael Moore at a place of “honor” next to Jimmy Carter at the Democratic convention; when John Kerry says that Whoopie Goldberg and her hate-filled, foul-mouthed friends represent the values of his party; when Larry Flint and Hugh Hefner are considered to be icons of the liberal elite; when Howard Stern calls President Bush a Hitler and vows to defeat him; when the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson continually preach race hatred, berate the president and call him unpatriotic, aren’t they indeed letting us know who their friends are? Now the Democrats are trying to feed us the malarkey that they also espouse “moral values.” This is nothing short of ludicrous!
Yes, I think it’s time for the Democrats to take their own advice and “move on.” They would be well advised to do so without some of their old friends.
