Designation would ensure protection

I have to disagree with the views of the head of the snowmobile alliance (guest commentary: “Allow all Americans to enjoy their forests,” Feb. 6). Wilderness designation is the best form of preservation for special wild places like the Wild Sky – to ensure that we can continue to hike, camp, fish, climb, horse pack or just enjoy the beauty of these special areas.

Wilderness designation is the only way that we can guarantee this amazing landscape will be here for our children – and theirs.

It’s time that Congress listened to the solid majority of Washingtonians who want Wild Sky, all of Wild Sky, conserved and protected. Because once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
