Leave downtown alone.
We do not need that arena there. Talk is that it will hold 7,000 people. The only time 7,000 will be there is on opening night. We should not demolish those buildings. To say nothing of losing those property tax dollars, that area to me is very historic.
Is the public aware that we subsidize the Everett Performing Arts Center to the tune of $323,000 a year? How much will the arena cost us?
If they want to build one, why not east of Broadway or by the Holiday Inn, where I understand the city has property. If this goes through, I imagine quite a few individuals will have smiles on their faces on the way to the bank.
