Disrespect a forerunner to hatred

I know how I will vote this election. I am sympathetic to all those who encounter partisan rudeness. I also know the fear of not being able to put signs in my yard or on my car. I know we need to vote on the side of respect for all life, for civility, for ethical and personal transparency, for sound economics and for experience.

I will not vote for anyone who looks the other way where voter registration fraud is celebrated and where organizations like MoveOn.org. and certain campaign committees spew out their lies and hatred because the have the money to do so, not because they abide by the facts.

I will vote for those who will hold fast to an American ideal while changing things toward that ideal for everyone. I will not vote for those who wish to fundamentally change America, its Constitution and American individualism. I will not vote for those who are actually siding with anarchists and others who apparently never were proud to be an American.

I fear the passion we are seeing in huge political rallies has been born more from hate than from a platform of values. This election the conservatives may be silenced in a hundred different ways and you can say goodbye to the very foundation of this blessed nation: personal freedom. Perhaps we will see a new presidential seal, all stripes, no stars, because state government will be so small. Perhaps we will see a new flag, like Canada did upon voting in a more liberal government. Perhaps we will have a president that will shape this nation in his own image.

May we all truly ask ourselves who and what are we voting for in this crucial election. I cast my vote for America.
