Do research her many activities

Thank you for the letter, “Cantwell must be seeking re-election.” It is unlikely Sen. Cantwell is more active right now in efforts to get re-elected. Yes, many of us public need to wake up as the letter writer said. Some of us will occasionally break through our veil of ignorance (unawareness) to project our own ignorance upon what others are doing when seeing a headline in the news, hearing something, attending to an emerging thought or emotion, etc. And then we are quick to blame that person for our own ignorance and/or lack of self involvement.

It might be helpful for some of us public to wake up enough, to see some of the mechanisms, ongoing activities, efforts, and involvements provided by Sen. Cantwell, herself (and other senators, too), such as: the 14 committees she serves on as seen on her website at www.cantwell.senate.gov, her newsletter by selecting your own areas of interest (like Agriculture, Education, Energy, Environment, Financial Reform, First Responders, Health Care, Homeland Security, Jobs &the Economy, Technology &Innovation, Transportation &Infrastructure, Tribes, Veterans, etc.), or go to her sites like Twitter, or YouTube, sign up for her email news, etc. Or see the U.S. Congress — Open Congress website for all members at www.opencongress.org. Or maybe Wikipedia at would likely make our head spin with the nature and extent of Sen. Cantwell’s involvements and accomplishments. Thanks to the letter writer for the wakeup call!
