I am against the proposed ban on plastic bags, but for a reason that might be counter-intuitive. I recycle my grocery bags. Allied Waste provides a recycle container free of charge. It comes with information on how to recycle. I was surprised at all the stuff I could recycle! I even recycle The Herald.
If you don’t have garbage service, I’ve noticed the major grocery stores have plastic bag recycle bins. It’s just one last step as you head out the door to get groceries.
I have just a brief thought about the turmoil on the Keystone Canada-Texas oil pipeline. Has anyone considered piping the crude oil to a refinery in Washington, Idaho or Montana? (A Homer Simpson “Doh!” moment.)
