This is written in response to Robin Harbin’s letter on Sept. 19 regarding the Boy Scouts, (“Boy Scouts: Rethinking is needed”). Last I heard, we still lived in a free country. Since when is it acceptable for a charity to dictate to a private organization how it should be run?
Homosexuality is a choice. But do not demand others to accept it or their children to be exposed to it. Just because homosexuality is a chosen lifestyle does not mean the Boy Scouts have to embrace it. How arrogant and self-absorbed for any of us to threaten or belittle others because they have not chosen our path. If you choose to live the homosexual life, so be it. But stop forcing others to accept it. In other words, you may be the one that has to pull your head out of the sand.
Rah rah, Boy Scouts! I think you’re great and stand your ground!
