Now, let’s see if I have this right. Snohomish County says that two Snohomish Little Leagues have to remove 17 baseball fields that they built east of town because they are on property zoned for farmland and, according to state law, can only be used for farming.
This is the same Snohomish County that is willing to grant permission to Andy Skotdal, owner of KRKO radio, to build up to eight radio towers in the Snohomish River valley area which is also zoned farmland, and give Dwayne Lane the right to build a car dealership in another area also zoned as farmland.
Perhaps if you are a politician this will make perfect sense. To me it’s a crying shame that kids who want to play baseball will be denied the right to do so while businessmen who have lots of money can do whatever they please with the county’s blessing, even though they fly in the face of the same state law that is being used to condemn the baseball fields.
Things like this make me go hmmmm! All the way to the ballot box.
