I’d like to thank the Department of Transportation for unclogging the I-5 northbound lane through Everett as described in the July 25 article titled “New lane should unclog I-5 northbound.”
I am sure relief is coming, I just don’t know when. I head south on I-5 frequently on Friday evenings. I drive slowly as I empathize with those in the northbound lanes as they sit, idling, watching time pass, waiting in the traffic backup from the Eastmont/Everett Mall exit to the U.S. 2 exit. They sit patiently waiting for the anticipated promises to be fulfilled. I also want to thank the many politicians who have taken credit for their assistance in cleaning up the whole mess. I don’t know how many millions of dollars was spent getting rid of this bottleneck.
I am convinced it was spent wisely but for what, I don’t know. Maybe when the Department of Transportation opens the additional southbound lane the northbound lanes will become unbottled.
