Eagles won event in a major way

I would like to comment on your article concerning the WESCO North 3A wrestling tournament from the Sunday Sports section. First of all, congratulations to head coach Rick Iversen and his assistant (and former long-time Arlington head coach) Jim Smoots on leading Arlington to its first district wrestling title ever; it’s been a long time coming.

Secondly, I’d like to clarify that Arlington didn’t “edge out” Marysville-Pilchuck and Everett, as the article stated. The Eagles won the event going away, by almost 90 points, and the outcome wasn’t in doubt after the morning session on Saturday. It was a triumphant weekend for Arlington wrestling!
