Edmonds voters, especially our young people who have been sorely underrepresented in prior elections, I am writing to encourage you to vote.
Four years ago, I loved filling in the circle for Mike Nelson as Mayor of Edmonds, and I am ready to do the same once more. The devotion he has put in during a tough four years of pandemic mayorship has been evidenced by the incredible new projects and activities happening in all corners of our beautiful city. He has the support of fire and police, as well as multiple other well-deserved endorsements.
What I especially appreciate about Nelson is that he pursues justice and equality for all Edmonds citizens, equitable access to the benefits of Edmonds for the whole of the city, and creatively considers the future of Edmonds while preserving the city we love. He speaks up for those who feel they don’t have a voice, and listens with compassion. As mayor of a city, this progressive and thoughtful leadership style goes a long way and ensures long-term, long-lasting results. As a young family hoping to enjoy Edmonds for generations to come we appreciate the utilization of resources to connect people through diverse celebrations, neighborhood events, and through projects such as the city-connecting “greenway loop.”
I also support Nancy Katims for the school board, who served during difficult budget cuts and continued to try to find creative solutions to minimize reductions and impact on important programs.
