Electoral College flunks fairness test

The Electoral College (Look up “college”. It isn’t one.) has many wonderful benefits, available only to those huddled in the gated community called America.

It obviates the need for anybody living in serial blue or red states to vote at all. Unless you live in Maine or Nebraska, most of you knew a year ago who gets your vote.

It allows most people who live west of the Mississippi River to go to bed early after not voting because the results are clear or else won’t be miscounted for several days.

It allows somebody to win who is popular with less Americans than the person who lost.

Sadly, very few people understand it at all so they can’t embrace it with much enthusiasm.
