So, our state wants new car sales to be only electric vehicles by 2030.
I have never owned an electric vehicle, not even a golf cart.
Now electric cars are expensive to buy. Since I don’t pay income tax, the $7,500 federal tax credit would do me no good. I assume a new bank of batteries would cost me $7,500 to $10,000 when they need replacement at 75,000 to 100,000 miles.
So, I will continue to keep my 1993 Mustang convertible going as well as my 2006 Nissan Xterra SUV.
New electric generating plants will have to be built in this state to supply the extra power these new vehicles. Gas stations will not need to sell gasoline, many of them will go out of business.
Oh, well, we will have extended light rail and helicopter taxis by then.
