The Herald’s endorsements never fail to meet my lowest expectations. I suppose I never really thought your little paper would have the courage to back off its history of support for John Lovick. But, give me a break! Side by side, how could there possibly be any question that Irene Endicott is the better choice for 44th District, Position 2? I have listened to the audio of John Lovick’s representation of our district and studied his record in Olympia. It is clear from that research that many of his achievements consist of legislative bones thrown him by the Democratic party or of bills he borrowed or stole credit for from other legislators and agencies.
As for Irene Endicott, she is every bit as competent and qualified as Lovick himself acknowledges. Mrs. Endicott does research issues extensively and has been actively engaged in public policy matters for years. Contrary to your suggestion, however, she has extremely well-formulated actions in mind to address critical matters facing this community. And, as importantly, she has the skill, experience and talent to take real initiative and provide real leadership in Olympia. Oh, and by the way, for what it adds to her qualifications to serve us in the state house, Irene Endicott is an extremely nice person!
