Recently, the Carl Gipson Senior Center members we’re honored to have Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin for a Q&A session for the members of the senior center. Let me be honest: I am a staunch Republican and have been since I started using my brain to think instead of my heart. I was very curious to see if our mayor had common sense even though I thought she would vote and go along with the liberal party lines. What a surprise. I and my lunch buddy cronies sitting at our table we’re taken off guard by her straight-forward answers to questions from the audience. Mayor Franklin also brought us up-to-date on the state of affairs for Everett.
To my surprise I found out that Everett is not a Sanctuary City but instead a safe city, which allows Everett to receive federal funding for certain projects. Mayor Franklin also gave us updates on certain projects going on in Everett such as the Grand Avenue Footbridge, Parks and Recreation, zoning and most important, public safety, which she said be adding new police officers to the force in the upcoming years.
I will say this: Mayor Franklin is A very well-spoken, articulate and a commonsense mayor. And we’ll never allow Everett to go into the dark abscess of Seattle. As a Republican, Mayor Franklin I take my hat off to you and will support you in future endeavors, I was very impressed with you.
