We had an opportunity to attend the band concert sponsored by the Everett High School Band and Director Gary Evans on Feb. 12. EHS invited the bands from North Middle School and Evergreen Middle School to participate in the concert. It proved to be a wonderful evening of musical talent. The audience responded with several standing ovations during the concert.
Eighth grader Marisa Hill on the flute soloed with the Evergreen Band. Joseph Gudorf, director of the Evergreen Band on the trumpet, and Megan Vinther, director of the North Band on the French horn, soloed with the Everett High Band. These beautiful solos added so much to the evening.
Congratulations to the Everett School District for supporting this outstanding music program. Studies have shown that music students also usually excel in mathematics, so the program is a win-win in many ways.
