Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness … but how can we have life as a right for all with out health coverage for all?
Despite the fact that America is one of the most powerful and richest nations in the world, our health-care system is headed for complete failure if we do not choose single-payer health care for all. Our current health-care system is wasteful and most people are a hospital visit away from being put into bankruptcy.
I recently went to hear Anne Feeney, an activist folk singer, who was on a big road trip for single-payer health care from San Diego to Bellingham. It was a great concert, but hearing a longtime-serving doctor from Harborview hospital in Seattle mention how often he sees people being put into bankruptcy because of health-care expenses, went far to show how messed up our health-care system currently is and the need for some major changes in that system.
