America has been struck by reprehensible acts of terrorism. While lives have been lost or forever damaged and buildings destroyed in New York and Washington, D.C., each of us has been violated, no matter where we live in this great country. We must move forward, beyond the feelings of vulnerability. We must not let the cowards behind this senseless act control our lives or limit our freedoms.
America will heal as we always have. We will unite as a people and grow stronger as a nation. Our resolve is unquestionable and our bond is unbreakable. Those who underestimate or dismiss the resolve of America, do so at their peril.
Let us grieve this tragedy and pray for the victims and their families. Let us also redouble our efforts to ensure that local communities are secure and prepared.
Our freedoms have always been and will always be the envy of the world. Our future, like our past will be tested. How we fare depends on our faith, our strength and our perseverance. May God bless the citizens who lost their lives, their families and their loved ones, and may God bless America.
