I agree with the Nov. 18 letter, “Make Congress pay at elections.” The bonuses to be paid to the executives of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are nothing more than legalized stealing of the American taxpayers’ dollars. They may be entitled to a bonus, and it should be no more than 10 percent above the bonus paid to the person that answers the phone or sorts the mail at those entities. That would probably be zero.
By the way, according to Forbes.com, Michael Williams, head of FNMA, received salary, bonus, stock option, and probably tips, of almost $5.6 million.
