It’s a tragedy the boys were playing with fireworks illegally. (July 16 article, “Boy dies after he’s chased into traffic.”) I know the feeling of losing a child because of fireworks. Laws already on the books need to be enforced. The 22-year-olds are not responsible for the death of the 12-year-old boy who ran into traffic. The boys should not have been in possession of fireworks. The parents will come to accept that in time.
Fireworks should be banned in Washington. We are safer with professional shows.
