Who does Council President Hikel think he is for shaming a former city employee after he simply gave his opinion? The shame is his. (Sunday letter, “Bigger not always more efficient”).
This man has no obligation to the city simply because he previously worked there. He has a right to his opinion, the same as the rest of us Americans. In fact, his opinion weighs more since he has seen the city from the inside and he is not a politian. Furthermore, Lynnwood residents used to have low taxes. Now thanks to Hikel and four others they are 4 percent times 4 higher. A net increase of 16 percent on my utilities!
