While our nation tried to absorb the reality of Tuesday’s horror and the fear of more strikes somewhere else in our country, some people in our own county decided to strike a little fear of their own against officials.
What were "Freedom County" supporters thinking when they approached county council members’ back doors in the dark Tuesday night with bogus documents seeking $750 million? How absolutely pitiful of these men to behave like this on any day. But to purposely scare people on a day when war was declared on our country is unforgivable.
It was either blatant stupidity that led them to do this on Tuesday or it was intentional. We have to seriously wonder if they meant to play on the terror of the day. Either way, it doesn’t reflect well on "Freedom County" backers who expect rational citizens to support their separatist efforts. Then again, what else can we expect from a group of people which "elects" leaders on a bus ride to Olympia?
Anyone who dares to behave so cruelly should be warned. This type of threatening behavior will not be tolerated any longer. Your cause does not give you authority to terrorize others. It does not make you brave or seen by others as the victim. It makes you a coward. And that was a word used to describe some other people who chose to terrorize our country the very same day.
